NEWSLETTER JANUARY 2015
PRESIDENT
At our Annual General Meeting in December we said goodbye to Dr Anne Kilvert who has been our President since the group was formed in 2000.
With her forthcoming retirement in March Dr Anne feels that it is time to hand over the reins to someone new. We all feel a great debt to her for the enthusiasm, encouragement and professional advice she has offered to us over the years. At the AGM she was presented with a bouquet of flowers and a gift from the group.
Dr Mano Kenchaiah - a recently appointed Consultant Physician at Northampton General Hospital with a special interest in Diabetes - has agreed to take up the position as President and was warmly welcomed at our Committee meeting this month. We look forward to introducing him to you all at a General Meeting. Dr Chris Lovatt has kindly agreed to continue as our Vice- President.
Our Committee is now fully staffed, welcoming back Colin Davenport and a new member Mike Tebbutt.

FUND RAISING
As ever, our major endeavours are concentrated on raising funds to assist with the annual children’s event which has in the past been held at Grendon Hall. Due to changing circumstances this year’s event will be a one-day ‘camp’ held at a new venue, of which more news later.
Last year we contributed £750 towards the cost of the children and their families who attended from the Daventry area. We hope to make a substantial contribution to the event to be held in May this year. Our raffles at the regular meetings, together with donations from individuals, and from groups and organizations in the area, are vital to our continued commitment in this area.

In conclusion, we thank you all for your continuing support of our Group and wish you a Happy and Healthy New Year.
